No one has ever told me why susan osman gets called doily.
its been a good few weeks since she as on N24.
When Susan was a regular presenter of the joint overnight service (she Sunday's I think) - she had a couple of very doily-like blouses...
She is no longer a regular on N24 - suspect she hoped for more shifts than she got when she broke the strike. (Oddly the other two presenters that day also no longer regularly work for News 24 or World...)

I've not seen it mentioned elsewhere, so I thought I'd pop it in here: I may be wrong, but I think I've seen a new style of 'weather warning' graphic used on News 24 weather forecasts today.
Rather than the standard drop-down slide and triangle icon, this animation had a large rounded rectangle in the centre of the screen with the weather warning information contained within it.
Much more eye-catching than the previous style. Not sure if this is a new thing, or if I'd just missed it in recent days/weeks/months/years.

It would look better there, but I doubt they'd do it. IIRC the original policy of having a dedicated News 24 weather presenter doing all the forecasts live from the studio was abandoned for reasons of cost.
It's clearly cheaper to have a forecaster based in the weather centre so they're free to do forecasts for other channels / online, etc..

Talking of weather, do people reckon that weather will come from N6 all the time when 24 move there? It looks much better there as the presenters have more space.

Perhaps so, but at the moment they shouldn't do them from N8 anyway as the screen's not big enough - though I have argued in the past that it's not the size of the screen, it's how close you zoom in, but 24 always stay zoomed out with a resulting tiny map!
