This is what I can see after today's tinkering:

So we are halfway there, just need to up the position of the ticker and dog/clock bar to where the old one was and it will be fine. (The old ticker used to run flush to the bottom of my screen, but was readable!)

I dunno about you but I think whoever bought your TV bought a really badly overscanning one, it's overscanning to almost look like 14:9.

Yep, I think that's your telly that's wrong, not News 24!

There are no other channels it has problems with, plus I could see all the old graphics, I do accept that it over scans, but surely I would have had problems before?

Has she been acting on the side then? Laughing

Nearly as good as the "N IRELAND MISSING" a few weeks back!

interesting seats there. It's surprising what playing with furniture can do for that set.

I still think the best thing they could do is change the frosted glass behind the main shot.

Shouldn't Mayo have been on Five Live then? He's still on 1300-1600 isn't he? Or was it some sort of simulcast?

Was on News 24, Five Live, BBC World (I think, as he said BBC Television) and bbc.co.uk!

Now we're looking at how we fine-tune the position of the clock which clearly some viewers can't always see in full, even in widescreen mode. It's not a matter of the age or type of TV you're watching on, it appears even some plasmas are losing the left-hand digit on the clock

Sounds like they may just be bumping it to the right a bit but I guess it'll then look odd on 14:9?

It already "looks odd" on 14:9 - only one or two digits (but not none) are visible in 14:9 mode...

Anyone notice the absolute howler in Sejal Karia's report that said Dreamgirls had been nominated for best picture? I can't believe they could make such a fundamental mistake.

To add to the debate over the overscanning issue, I have a 16:9 Panasonic LCD television and when watching on Sky Digital yesterday, the only problem I had was about 1/3 of the LIVE bug being chopped off. The ticker and clock were perfect. Today, since the LIVE bug has been lowered slightly, it now all looks perfect on my TV.
