I think that Sissons shouldn't present on news 24, as you say he would be no good when the time comes for major breaking news. How old is Peter anyway?

Well a couple of years ago it seemed to be BBC Weather that always had someone going on maternity leave.

They should put him and chris lowe on the one while sophie is on meternity leave.

Why is Nick Owen standing up on News 24? It's a strange presentation style- he is standing in the left-hand pod (the one without the screen).

Maybe changes are being made to the main set / desk area? Would fit with the single-headed Six starting on Monday- just a thought!

its because the dateline london stuff needs to be cleared away from the desk. The bottom of the 11 hour is also done from the left pod whilst they bring in the guests and get them all sorted to go on air.

nO HE WOULD BE TERRIBLE...... I think sophie back to the 6 Solo ... Fiona to the 1 Huw and JANE hill on the 10 and louise minchin and tony campion on breakfast ... with the excellent Carrie Gracie or Joanna Gosling as relief....

I actually think Nicholas Owen would be a good Six presenter, wheras a double headed Ten with a single headed Six would be a bad mistake. I'm also not sure if Tony Campion's still with the BBC - not seem him for ages, which is a shame as I think he's an excellent newsreader and I think him and Louise would make good Breakfast presenters - not that it would happen at any point in the near future though.

I will stick to my guns and say Phillip Hayton would be best for the 'Solo Six'!
