All due to a simulcast, and looks like they thought it was important to get the domestic headlines in for UK viewers. Although it looks slightly odd for UK viewers to be going back to Michel Husain in London at the BBC World second set, after having seen Maxine at TOTH.

The problrm was mainly from News24 end. BBC WORLD handle it quiet well. After Lyse, Mishal came in and then the headline bed. Though it took long I guess for News24 to finish it was done well. Lyse is great at these kinds of things.
Isn't it great for the BBC to jump on the story before most others especially when there is a state of emergency and people are not allowed freely into the country.

No its not N24s fault world used the wrong bed they shouls have used the standard bed as there is little difference between worlds and N24s

They used a different bed becuase it was a special. Maybe news24 should have followed World then. Confused:

That bed wont be on N24s sytems.

Why not? and why would World use the wrong bed? What bed are you talking about? The only difference between their beds is that worlds has thunderclaps, and news 24's doesn't. However World ALSO use the one without thunderclaps.

Is it just me, or has BBC News 24 quietly dropped the ticker, except for odd occasions such as Breaking News. I've been tuned in serveral times over the last few days, and I'm sure I've barely seen the ticker at all. HardTalk is on now, and there is no ticker there.

There are often occasions when the ticker isn't shown - during TWT, for example, the ticker is often not on screen - but I've not personally noticed a reduction in its use over the last couple of weeks.

Additionally, I haven't seen any mention on here of N24 using the current style of BBC Sport graphics for sports pres, at long last; this has been going for a couple of weeks now.

Getting anything special from BBC News 24 for their tenth anniversary? Sky had a lot of anniversary plugs for their 10th birthday.

The original flags music is still so fresh IMO...tho maybe lacked a little pace compared to todays effort.

Since we're on the topic, someone upload the original Weekend 24 opening ages ago...anyone know if its still floating about?

As much as i love the current music on News 24 and some of the previous themes nothing compares to the original music for me. The TOTH music really gave a presence that the hour was coming more so than any of the latter versions. And going from one blowing flag to about 10 in a few seconds really grabbed the attention. The whole channel felt really fresh, vibrant and colourfull in its early days (although this was apparently partly the problem). Whilst the channel is far superior to what it was 10 years ago i still have a lot of enthusiasm for its early days.

Yes N9 was the launch studio for BBC News 24. News 24 moved to its current home N8 in October 1998 when Digital TV launched (and stage 6 at TVC was completed and opened). It was the second "Flags" studio. It adopted the National news branding in October 1999.

No simulcast with 6 tonight, as the Space Shuttle landed at 6.01. That took until 6.07, and now Ben Brown's presenting single-handedly.
