That was the bit used in-between the headlines with the summary bed, just to fill 10 or so seconds until they got the countdown on Wink
BB
BBC LDN
Looks like they switched to the countdown feed a little early at the 1000 TOTH; the first frame was visible, with 59:24 on the countdown clock, for about eight seconds before actually beginning to run.

All due to a simulcast, and looks like they thought it was important to get the domestic headlines in for UK viewers. Although it looks slightly odd for UK viewers to be going back to Michel Husain in London at the BBC World second set, after having seen Maxine at TOTH.

The problrm was mainly from News24 end. BBC WORLD handle it quiet well. After Lyse, Mishal came in and then the headline bed. Though it took long I guess for News24 to finish it was done well. Lyse is great at these kinds of things.
Isn't it great for the BBC to jump on the story before most others especially when there is a state of emergency and people are not allowed freely into the country.

Always good to see the a special presented on a World issue by a correspondent who knows their stuff and presents confidently. Out of interest does Mishal often present on BBC World on a Sunday? Just wondered if this was why she often does the evening national news on a Sunday.

No she doesn't present on World on sundays. Her schedule is Mondays-Thurdays 11-4 pm GMT. It is primetime in the region and Mishal is form Pakistan so more likely she was going to do it. Though anybody could have done it.

They used a different bed becuase it was a special. Maybe news24 should have followed World then. Confused:
