Considering the text in the straps never seems to go above the BBC News 24 dog they'd be better off moving the Live/Location dog into that space, with LIVE on the top line, location on the bottom line and perhaps some difference in the shading to distinguish it from the main aston.

Or even considering now the main astons are a more reasonable size they could fit a thiner line for LIVE / Location above it.

Me too. I'm not a fan of the shouty Sky style of having everything in caps. I'd also prefer the ticker to be in mixed case, which is widely accepted to be more readable.

Something interesting just came up on screen at the start of the Oscar nominations.

David Willis was introduced and the 'local time' in LA was strapped underneath the LIVE box. Is this a new feature?

BBC climbdown on news graphics - Media Guardian

"In a move reminiscent of its climbdown over revamped weather graphics, the BBC has been forced to backtrack over the new look for its news shows."

Just a rehash of material from the BBC Editors' Blog, really.
