Thanks; I vaguely remember reading about the change here. Thank god they haven't messed with the music.

What's the house style for location bugs - caps or mixed-case?

Ow. They REALLY didn't set the details up, did they? Things like safe areas & case consistency should be sorted out waaay before the things go live...

There's an indication in this grab of why the live bugs are disappearing from many screens. This capture seems to have grabbed the entire picture information including the usually 'unsafe' overscan area. You can see the vertical edge of the picture on the left and right. This is the very last of the picture information and the actual edge of the image. Compare that with the position of the live bug at the top (and indeed bug and ticker and the bottom) and it's easy to see why most people are getting it half out of frame on their displays. Traditionally, the unsafe overscan area is 10% of the picture!

I probably have the worst telly here; you can see all the ticker (It isn't any higher than the old one) and all of the clock, but I can onl see a quarter of LIVE.
MO
Yeah, I'm fine with the ticker which fits
perfectly
on my telly - the gap below the ticker text is identical to the gap below it, nicely balanced, and the clock is right in the corner, but not too close to the edge.
However I can only see the bottom half of the LIVE, but apparently their nudging this down a bit over the next couple of days.

The live bug seems to have been fixed now. It's much lower and seems to sit as far away from the screen edge as the ticker. They also seem to be using a smaller font for the live location name.
WM
agreed. the font for the location next to the LIVE bug should be bigger and in upper case now there is now much more flexibility for long place names... i.e. it should be like "WASHINGTON" and not "Sheffield" in the caps in Londeners post above...
