Yes, I noticed that too. Inexplicably the final regional opts on Breakfast are at 9:03 each morning. If they leave the handover to N24 until then it looks very messy indeed.

For some reason Breakfast was on till 9, so at that point there was a slightly untidy handover from Breakfast to News 24.

I wonder if this is connected to the big problems BBC World were experiencing earlier on this morning? They had several record bulletins before finally going live again at 0900 GMT. It seems rather strange that both News 24 and World are having technical difficulties at the same time.

It's probably also the reason why Breakfast was broadcast on News 24 right up until 9am.

Well they now have the clock and the ticker, no astons though.
I noticed the weather was late. Lucky Dan Corbett can talk the "hind-legs off a donkey" and can fill time extreemly well.
They can get by without a countdown and titles at midday by going live to Downing Street for the media conference just beforehand. This is often done anyway when there is a live report continuing over the TOTH.

2 points: The absence of the countdown all weekend is clearly not a technical issue (this has affected broadcasting today, not all weekend)
Also, BOTH sequences have been interesting - straight from weather to presenter 2 shot, then full headlines sequence as per TOTH, then titles...
I still expect to see a re-edited countdown before the day is up, or tomorrow morning. The TOTH's have actually been quite effective of late - straight from weather or trail, to presenter 2 shot on a slow creeping zoom "Hello, you're watching BBC News 24, the main headlines at x o'clock" Then the headlines bed kicks in - works quite nicely, captures the viewer's attention.
