.........Stage 5 (also known as The Spur, where TV News moved to after Alexandra Palace I think - the original two news studios N1 and N2 are now TC10 and TC11) and finally, Stage 6.

I'm sure someone has answered this before, but was there ever N3-N5 and what are they now?

There were 3 studios on the 6th floor - two large-ish studios N1 (now TC10) and N2 (now TC11) which were originally shared by the One, Six, Nine and Newsround, when they all had different sets. Then when the virtual blue era arrived, Breakfast News/Business Breakfast and the One, Six and Nine all came from N2 on a shared set (Business Breakfast had its own set opposite this), Newsround moved out to a main block studio at some point, and BBC World moved into N1 from their previous tiny studio on the 7th floor which had been used since the launch of BBC World Service Television.

Am I right in thinking N2 / TC11 was also the temporary, CSO home of News 24 when the new N8 set was being constructed?

Are the OB link ups for both news channels controlled from the same gallery? I just wonder why the Live Bug sometimes carries a Local time on it when shown on News 24. I realise this is a BBC World item so who's in charge?

Personally I think the Local Time Bug should stay on News 24 Link ups. outside the UK

No, both News24 and World galleries can call up that bug, if a producer has put the right instruction into the live item page. News24 tends not to bother that much.

Presenters do seem to be all over the place at the moment. It's onlt Ben & Joanna who're regular presenters. Saying that Joanna can't have long to go until she drops.

So how long do we recon and who will take over from her? God I hope she's not replaced by someone temporarily but then looses the slot permanently. Still any chance of Emily taking over again? Carrie?

Hilarity in the background there on News 24. Came back from a report on sofas giving people alergic reactions and Ben said in a really sarcastic way, "Hmmmm!" to which Joanna started smirking. Then when they handed over to Marriam for the business you could hear Joanna laughing her head off in the background and as Marrian went to a report even she went "He he he!" before her mike was faded out.

They have far too much fun. Wink

WNA started a lot later tonight. It's only about 20 mins long on News 24.
Although it could be argued that the overnights were produced independently of either channel it was very much News 24 led. Well now with the news special with Lyse Doucet, Two new WN slots and TWT, and the overnights startin to come from downstairs in N9 it appears that BBC World is slowly making its precence felt to the UK audience.

"Now on BBC One we join BBC News 24 who are currently broadcasting BBC World."
