Does anyone else think Ben Brown is the best BBC News 24 presenter ever? He's charming, witty, authorative, amusing and just extremely brilliant.

Let's have more Ben please, rather than boring old Jonathan "I'm so full of myself" Charles, and Louise "look at my smile" Minchin, and Jon "lanky" Sopel.

Great moment on the sports headlines at 5.15 there, someone sitting at the desk immediately behind the presenter in the newsroom was enjoying a rather large muffin. When we cut back to the presenter the muffin had magically disappeared.

Ben Brown - Authorative yes but definately appears uncomfortable on screen

Jonathan Charles - Uncomfortable with domestic issues

Louise Minchin and Jon Sopel work well as a team imo.

Anyway it's 'with me' tonight (presumably with Joanna G) so we're in very safe hands until Chris Eakin takes over at 2230.

It doesn't usually matter to me who is presenting but I have to say I can't watch when Ben Brown his on, his intonation is really annoying.

The three presenters you have named are much more watchable, authoritative, amusing and brilliant - Sopel and Minchin being the best partnership on N24.

No - you may be alone in this thought.

I suspect there are many other presenters who others would rate further ahead in the competion to be "The best News 24 presenter ever"

Well, QT extra seemed to be a bit of a waste of space really, surely most viewers to QT will stick with BBC ONE for This Week anyway.

At the bottom of the hour during the overnight simulcasts, when we return (here on World) to Deborah MacKenzie for a re-cap of the main news headlines (usually in pictures with voice-over), we at World usually opt-out rather abruptly and head into a sting, followed by World Business Report (or some other programme). What occurs on News 24? Do you continue with the newsreader for another thirty minutes of UK news, or does N24 also go into specialist programming overnight for the second half-hour?

I can't help but think the World opt out could be less "cutting" and abrupt. Very often we are cutt-off half way through one of the story re-caps.

AFAIK at .30 after 60 seconds of headlines, BBC World opt out to an Ident then into Asia Today or something, and News 24 do another few headlines then go into WBR or something similar, then headlines at .45 then the last 15mins of a programme, promos weather countdown top of the hour?

Thats what I think anyway, if i'm wrong, someone can correct me!

Wonder why we don't take the "few more" headlines too.

Usually these headlines only concern ''home'' news or news that auntie thinks those abroad will not have any interest in.

Ben Brown:
- Once interrupted himself on the autocue when his co-persenter, Emily Maitliss, sneezed
- Was smiling at someone off camera after he asked Joanna Gosling whether or not she was asking him out
- Comes across as very relaxed, confident and cool... when it's the end of his shift

See what I mean. Jon Sopel, Louise Munchkin, Jane Hill et all don't even come close to this broadcasting legend
