They also used the 2003 bed for the headlines.

Yes, I noticed that. I wonder why? A funny mistake to make if so.

Not really, it's probably something as simple as someone forgetting to update them in N6's gallery.

I thought it would be something like that. I was thinking more that if it was a mistake, it would be a strange one.

I thought the "nationals" studio couldn't generate the N24 graphics, and last time N24 was in there for the day, they still needed to use the N24 gallery for that reason?

Music was all good when BBC World was in there a few weeks ago for an hour or three.

Makes me think how nice the 2003 TOTH Headline Bed was.

The BBC One gallery has had the ability to do the same animating Viz lower thirds as News 24 for quite some time. It was installed, but not used, the last time News 24 were there AIUI.

What's going on today that the normal N24 studio's unavailable?

And if that's the 2003 "bed" that's still running in the 15:15 recap, I far prefer it to the current one...

AIUI there is nothing major going on, just an upgrade to the graphics playout equipment.

News 24s still-stores have been there since 1998 and are due for replacement.

Isn't there some speculation that sometime next year News24 are going to go into the network studio permanently and World will take over the News24 studio?

Interesting dry run for it today if true.

Today is certainly not a dry run. Just some work in N8.

BUT if/when they move into N6 full-time it won't look like this. It will be tweeked to allow for sport ect.

No - not a dry run at all. If News 24 move into the current BBC One studio it won't be set or operated in the same way as now, so not really a dry run at all.

Well they'll sure have to change the background.

And quite a lot more if they want to be able to continue to do what they currently do on the News 24 set without camera operators.

Why would they be moving into N6 though? And where does this "speculation" suggest that the 1/6/10/etc (and, if affected, the shows in the other "shoebox" studio - Newsnight, Newsround, etc) will go?

And aren't they all (N24 & World included) meant to be going to Broadcasting House soonish anyway?
