Surprised Suzanne Virdee ain't put in for a N24 slot, if they're using people from the regions to present now, seeing she read the Breakfast news occasionally.

Interesting you say that, Louisa Preston of BBC London I'm sure has presented on News 24 at least once, and she used to do the breakfast news reading duties as well.

Did anyone notice Adam Parsons (sports) presenting News 24 this morning between 0900 and 1300? He wasn't too bad. I assume it was his first time presenting the news rather than sports?

Forgot to mention yesterday - another mammoth stint for Tim Willcox. He did Saturday: 1300-1700 News 24, 1900-0100 BBC World, Sunday: BBC1 Lunch summary, 1300-1900 News 24. I think I'd get confused if I was doing that, especially with mixing N24 and World. He'd have gone from reporting/interviewing on Madeleine to the TUC Conference to the Sierra Leonean elections to Pakistani politics...

No, Adam Parsons has presented on the weekday daytimes before and on the Saturday 9-1 shift too, he was a little shaky the first few times but overall he is very good.

They have had a habit in the past of using random regional presenters on News 24. Remember Look North's Christa Ackroyd's weekend Breakfast stints a few years ago?

Oh yeah, that was an unusual choice. All I remember is that she sat at an odd angle all morning aimed at the close-up camera (Camera 5) and talking to the two-presenter camera (Camera 4)

IIRC Christa presented the weekend Breakfast with Noel Thompson of Newsline

Always thought our Noel was good enough for at least N24, did he ever do much apart from that stint or presenting from Belfast for Newsnight and Breakfast?

I think Sophie is now based in London (or is doing a stint there at least) as shes popped up as a reporter on News 24 several times in the last few weeks from around the capital and beyond...

Am I right in thinking that Sophie Long (Ex-Midlands and Spotlight) is presenting alongside Chris tonight?

So that would be Lowe and Long, then?

That's why he gets paid handsomely for being a newsreader and you get to post comments on here like the rest of us.
