Does she do this almost every time she presents the 1? I only ever catch News24 occasionaly whilst at work but seem to recall seeing her migrate over on a few occasions.

She has done it fairly often in the past, once or twice every couple of weeks. On fridays Louise Minchin and Emily Maitlis have done the same.

I remember reading a few weeks back that News 24 may be getting a new set, did we ever find out if this was true? I have to say the current set looks very clean and modern, nearly 5 years on!

It scheduled for the time-frame between November at the earliest, to April at the latest. Heard it from somebody who works at the newsroom (known as wikiwoohoo at wikipedia). I think the view of the newsroom is fine, but I think the addition of some new video screens and a rounder desk ala N6 would work quite well.IMO world has the better newsroom view.

I wish the news 24 technical team would stop trying to confuse me - They show some library footage of Gordon Brown and the cabinet with the live bug and then on the interview it had the live bug saying Westminster and it was at Westminister then it changed to "Hull." Uh uh.

Agreed, but it looked much better before they put up the frosted glass (or perspex?) panels. It just looks too enclosed now.

Then why can't Kaplinsky do this? I know George Alagiah has other commitments on BBC World, but Natasha Kaplinsky does very little for BBC News.

because like most bbc news presenters a three hour shift of reading an autocue and being told what to say constitutes a working day. ok, some like sophie and huw do bbc news 24 sometimes but natasha does her half hour and occassionaly and sadly sticks around to do the ten

BBC LDN
As has previously been explained on dozens of occasions, the reason that Natasha Kaplinsky doesn't work on News 24 is that she is not currently contracted to do so.

When her contract with the BBC is renegotiated, it is likely that it will require her to work on N24 in addition to her National responsibilities, but - as I understand it - Kaplinsky's existing contract predates the relatively recent trend in sharing of human resources across the BBC News outlets, having been arranged during the time when the bulletins, regions and N24 were far more insular than they are today.

I'm sure that if I've got anything wrong there, someone knowledgeable will correct me, but either way, isn't it time we moved on from this tedious Natasha-bashing?

Okay, some people think she's terrible. Yes, some people think she does sod-all for her wage. And sure, some people think she just pouts and giggles a lot.

WE GET IT. There's really no reason to keep making the same tedious comments about her over and over again - it just makes the forum a far more boring place for those of us who don't feel the need to ride every bandwagon that comes into town.
