Julian Worricker, one of the most familiar voices on Radio Five Live, is to leave the station after 13 years.
Worricker, who presents the Radio Five Sunday morning programme and previously co-hosted the breakfast show with Victoria Derbyshire, has been a presenter on the station since its launch in 1994.
His departure is expected to spark a rush among independent producers to win the contract to produce the replacement for the three-hour Sunday morning show.
Worricker, who is also a presenter on BBC News 24, is not renewing his contract with the corporation when it comes to an end in the autumn.
....................
He is understood to be taking six months off to travel around the world, but it is not known what he plans to do on his return.

Thats a shame, his show will be hard to beat on Five Live. Its always been a really informative show, and a good listen.

I agree he is a different style of presenter but very good - where did you hear this?

Did that not get discussed in May 2006?
I think your 14 months out!
No he's refering to the NEW wooshing noises that are over the current remix which started a few weeks ago. These new wooshes have been there since this mix first aired in June, but yes they are different.

lol - have they added new "whooshing" sounds to the countdown sequence? Quite nice - first time I've heard that.
Slapped wrist if this has been discussed

Has Christian Fraser, despite being advertised almost incessantly as the Rome (and also importantly Vatican) Correspondent recently, now moved on to Jerusalem?

Not entirely sure, but I know that some of the less high profile correspondents in Europe usually provide cover for the Middle East bureau during the summer months.

Nice to see ITV News' Tom Bradby doorstepping Boris Johnson outside City Hall in London this afternoon on BBC News24. James Landale got himself completely out of position and the 'interview' by Bradby was shown in full on the channel.
