Incredibly quick response by the BBC to get Jane out there, though. On the day in question she was on her usual shift, but was only on air for half an hour, until 11.30, when she vanished...and was broadcasting the next day from the location in Southern Portugal.

Was there any point in Philip Hayton leaving? Kate Silverton is off so much he'd hardly have worked with her. A bet Simon has to check what her name is when she turns up next to him!

I know the Lovies have to get publicity but is it really necessary to hop to the Palladium every 4-5 minutes, sometimes less, for a red carpet moment?

I know it's not a popular subject here but oh well. Martine Croxall presenting the late morning shift with Matthew A today. She seems to be creeping into mainstream N24 more and more recently.

Why couldn't they do that with Big Al instead? I'd rather see him on a decent shift than Martine.
