Al is currently on BBC World. So unless he is doing a double shift you may be disappointed

I am expecting a return of Alistair 'Big Al' Yates to daytime News24 tomorrow morning. Tim Willcox is filling in for Chris Lowe this weekend so he won't be on his usual 10.00 - 15.00 shift. Last time this happened, Big Al showed up and put a shift in - more of the same tomorrow I hope!

Thanks for the information tillyoshea now me and others know
It seems that the videos aren't updated anymore. For a week or so no new videos have been added. And the search engine on the blinkx website now takes its videos from the BBC NEWS website.

Unfortunately, I think that time when Alastair presented the 1000-1500 shift was a bit of a rare treat for us.
Although it's actually Louise Minchin doing that shift today, it really wouldnt have surprised me if Tim did that shift AND tonight's 1900-0000. Wouldn't have been the first time Tim has appeared on our screens covering two shifts in 24 hours...

Never mind, there will be another time I hope.
I'm sure Tim Willcox must virtually live there. On the day of the London bombings he just happened to be in, and came into the studio to assist with the Breaking news, even though he wasn't even presenting that day.
He is an excellent presenter, it is good they find so many shifts for him, even if he only 'officially' has 2 shifts of his own.

Tim does freelance reporter shifts as well as presenter shifts. I suspect he was one of the News 24 reporters (the ones who are based in the newsroom to voice packages, rather than out on location) on the day of the bombs, so he was drafted in to sit on set and act as a "Presenter's Friend". (The term for a guest or correspondent who is there to allow the presenter a break from talking!)
