I agree it looks like Kate Silverton has taken up Anna Jones' former slot.
I think Karin Giannone was just filling in for Joanna Gosling, who was on on Friday night as usual. I think we may see more of Karin and Rachel Schofield, now Kate seems to have settled into her own shift, Maxinne Mawhinny is missing (as usual) and Susanna Reid is on maternity leave.
I'm guessing that will mean Kate won't be covering for Susanna on Breakfast now then. Shame really, I like Kate especially on Breakfast all though on the plus Jules Botfield could return to the sofa.
There may be a few interesting tweaks to come with the presenter lineup. I'd imagine Jon Sopel will have Fridays off to concentrate on The Politics Show when he starts on that. I would imagine Julian Worricker or Simon McCoy would do the Friday 4-7 shift with Louise.
I think Kate would still do Breakfast when needed, she's definatly a face that fits on the sofa, and they would give her another day off during the week and get Karin or someone to fill in for her on N24.
i was very surprised to see a "BBC Look North Special" on BBC News 24 at 20:30 last night. As a BBC Leeds viewer, I don't like Christa Ackroyd at the best of times. She seems false. And she proved she was out of her depth in the BBC Look NOrth Special. Her interview skills are non existant... trying to be tough, but at the same time coming across as incompetant. Bad move.
Christa thinks she is "it" at the best of times... but doesn't deliver. That's why when it comes to N24 "stealing" regional talent they go for people like Martine Croxall and Jake Lynch.
Re: Big Al - the man is a legend. Overnights wouldn't be the same without him. He brings authority and a rock solid grounding for the news, whilst at the same time warmth and friendliness.

What the hell is going on with the N24 Tower this morning?! The globe is spinning at about 5 rotations per second - it's practically a blur!
Edit: TOG apparently taken offline around 0932, with no Tower onscreen, and no other graphics being shown. TOG doesn't seem to be particularly reliable; the failures are frequent, and given the number of graphical errors that pop up every day, I'd be surprised if all of these could be attributed simply to human error, and I suspect that a lot of it is down to the usability and/or reliability of the TOG system.
