I could have just imagined this, but when Jon handed over to Carol in the headlines area, there was a little boy of about 6 standing next to her, who then walked out of shot.

I thought it was a small female, with short hair?

Maybe it was. I only caught a glimpse.

Sorry, yes I just noticed. They have the same hair!

Who's this Susan Osmond, someone who lives on your street?

Or are you talking about former Points West presenter Susan Osman? Wink

If you want to book her to open something, she is free next Tuesday and Wednesday now.

It might have been the BBC ghost of presentation-past, coming to warn us all of the over-use of crap idents and music! Shocked

For those who haven't seen the new double-headed Sportsday with the new desk (sorry the caps are bit big!!):

I think it makes the mini-studio look way bigger- perhaps a permanent feature in the future?

I do like the Sportsday studio and think it'd work well for other programmes on N24 (Eg. Business Today etc.). Once again this addition to the set just shows what little can be done to that pod to improve it significantly just like it did when they brought the sofas in from Breakfast and put them there. The pod looks all right empty but would be so much better if something else was in there (like the desk, sofa etc.)

One thing I have noticed is the constant use of the ticker which to be honest is beginning to annoy me. Yes it is important for giving additional information during a Breaking News event or press conference but I feel really it isn't needed when we are all ready in a news summary at the top of the hour and if people were that desperate for news quickly they could just press the red button and select 'headlines' on News Multiscreen. I hope it won't be a permanent feature.

Well I thought it was my reception to start with -- but she does sound a bit pokey.

Almost like she's permanently about to sneeze.
