Sportsday should use Sport Today's titles IMHO.

I also think Weekend 24 should have seperate titles and perhaps focus more on international news.

It's been a busy week on News 24... Jon Sopel and Kate Silverton have been sent out today, on the bus and in the pub respectively. They've been fielding a team of reserves this week too, with presenters behind the desk including Karin Giannahoe, Simon McCoy, Liz Pike all making appearances

It certainly was busy between 4pm & 6pm today. Loads going on. Louise, Simon & Nick in the studio. Kate in the pub, Jon & Philippa on the bus. It just didnt stop. Sport & Business were pushed for time a bit.

I would imagine that Jon Sopel will be reporting from one of the constituencies tonight. IIRC he reported from Sedgefield in 2001.

Anyone see Darren Jordon on countdown taking about his army days and parachute jumps? i'd no idea he'd had such a contrasting career before taking up journalism.

can i just say that i was extremely impressed by BBC1/News 24's coverage of the General Election 2005. Great presenters, great lineup, professional analysis, debate and comment.

David Dimbleby is just fantastic - Andrew Marr, Anna Ford, Fiona Bruce, Natasha Kaplinsky, Brian Taylor, Huw Edwards, Jackie Bird, Anne Mackenzie, Jeremy Paxman and senior guests...the coverage of the election from the BBC throughout the UK was outstanding.

I also love the election titles News 24 are currently using...Media 24/7 confirms BBC1 got the highest viewing ratings (terrestrially) Well, they deserve it!

The BBC most certainly, I feel, never lets us down during the election time.

Am I going totally and utterly insane, or did News 24 just use a remarkably similar piece of music for their sports round-up to the one that Sky News use, or at least used a year or so ago?

It was practically identical. Is it library music, or something?

Really loved the coverage of The Cenotaph this morning when Simon McCoy was totally overpowered by five WWII veterans. He was trying desparately to get back to Tim Willcox in the studio but the Veterans kept on talking. He thought he'd got them to rap up and then they started up again.

Brilliant coverage.

Good to see Simon out and about. With the huge experience he has from Sky News, I think that he and Jon Sopel should be on a more level pegging in terms of who is the top presenter. It is a shame that he doesn't have a permanent slot, and I think that if the BBC are not careful, he may be tempted back to Sky

Spot on - Simon is a great presenter. I do think that he is underused at the Beeb - perhaps SKY will tempt him back there??

I was impressed with his coverage of the Glasgow Gas Blast on 24 as well.
