I presume that's because the UGC of Your News isn't compliant with graphics/action safe areas, the Tower is removed so it's not obscured.

5.00 is good that also more people will see it, ie workers.

What are you talking about? They ain't scheduling new graphics (which many people either won't notice or not care too much about) around what time milkmen get up.

Yeah, as I said on the last page, 5am is the first time World broadcasts on it's own after N9 has been off air for 4 hours, so it makes sense it'll be then. 8.30am will no doubt be the first time the new graphics come from N8, after 3.5 hours of N8 being off air.

The thing I'm wondering though is...

Would they want to relaunch World before N24 - taking into account that would split the N24 day?

I would of thought News 24 first personally.

The new kit is probably ready to go already. The reason they will be used for the first time on The World Today is probably that that is when the "new day" starts for BBC World produced programming.

Yup... if they don't start using it from 5am on World, then when do you propose they start? There isn't some sort of embargo on the graphics that means News 24 *has* to use them first.

Phil, do you know if Breakfasts straps will change to fit in with the new layout/style of straps?

As my "mate" Bill Lowry would say - BANG! It's all happening here.

The reason I'm wondering is the BBC always seem to treat World as the second class channel (despite it having all the fab stuff in 2000, which they then ruined). That's why I was thinking it might launch with news 24 at half eight.

Yes but still, they have to launch on World at *some* point. 8.30 may be the start of News 24's day, but it's a few hours into World's.

Oh god, what have I been reduced to, discussing this? I'm off to bang my head against a wall.

I actually cannot sleep. Although I'm wondering whether to attempt to get a few hours, or just give up and wait for 5 to see if it's on then
