Some good on-the-ball use of the Tower today, on the midday Saturday bulletin, these days with Maxine in N24.

It was reading 'BBC News' until the simulcast ended, and duly flicked over to 'BBC News 24' at exactly the right moment. Someone on the ball this morning. Usually the generic BBC News tower which they use for Breakfast remains on for half the morning on a Saturday and Sunday until someone notices it!

Perhaps this weekend will be the last we see of the Tower!!!?


Yes it will - from 0500am Monday on TWT - the Tower will be no more!

I've just listened to all the New 2007 music: News24 / BBCWorld and BBC1 National. They are all great packages with more of a drive to the beds. So yes Bail, there is a lot of new stuff and you'll get to hear some of it on Monday when it first airs! Very Happy

I hope they are getting new graphics too.

The "Viking's Helmet" with the world in the middle looks awful and cheap. Which eejit gave that the go-ahead?

Might there come a new-look website out of it as well? There are changes to the Video/Audio layouts as far as i can see right now. Try StoryFix: http://news.bbc.co.uk/player/nol/newsid_6280000/newsid_6281200/6281207.stm?bw=bb&mp=wm
It's black with white gradients and the BBC News logo in box format. Very nice in my opinion.
