Interesting to see Julia George (Botfield) doing Breakfast this morning - she was on at 11pm last night with Brian Hanrahan.

Interesting to see some try outs with presenters on News 24 over the last few weeks, with Jules, Ellie from Newsround, and Manisha Tank...wonder if any will have a slot with the mini revamp in the new year?

Is the Interesting to see phrase the new in thing to say on this thread?

It's twice in the post above, in the top post on the previous page and the bottom post on the last page!

Although there is a variation of the phrase on the last page where the word interesting has been replaced with nice.

...not a criticism... just an observation Smile

Anyone know whether there will be a Christmas variation on the TOTH countdown this year - similar to the world cup style?

It's nice to see Jules presenting quite frequently as I find that she is a competent presenter but can also have good interaction with co-presenters. I personally think she should have a permanent slot on Breakfast.

Ben Geoghan is hosting 5-7pm today. It's good to see him back on N24. Does this mean that Peter Sissons is on holiday or has he retired?

He hasn't retired yet - so either he's got some leave or he's ill.

Chris Lowe's been off for ages... wouldn't be surprised if hes left.

He's being covered for by Brian Hanarahan, who's very good IMO. I guess this is the shift Nick Owen will present.

Nick wont have a permanent shift and Chris is just on leave apparently.

Nice to see that News 24 have got fixed female presenter rotas(!) With Kate covering Breakfast, Jane covering the Six, Louise covering Kate covering Breakfast, Emily on maternity, it's 4/4 today. After Maxine this morning and some reporter whose name I forget on 11-2, it's now Stephanie Flanders, the Newsnight economics reporter. If Joanna calls in sick for 7-11, it'll probably be the cleaner. I like the variation though!

It was Sally Nugent on earlier.

Stephanie has been pretty poor this afternoon and at points has had no idea what is going on or what is happening next...

She has certainly been slow, at times incredibly bad. But again, in a rolling news environment, everyone has to start somewhere. Tim has been good in working with her and prompting her when needed, and leaving her plenty of space to speak up, especially during Breaking News segments. But I would agree, she has been distinctly average. But she has been asking all the right questions in interviews and demonstrates a broad knowledge of news and events.
