Interesting to see Tanya Beckett back in London doing the business news on News 24...always thought that she would have made a step up to being a main newscaster tho - especially after her ocassional stints on Weekend 24 and Breakfast News back in the day..

Manisha is excellent. I always had her down as a potential anchor on the Six.

Tanya has been back in London for about 2 months now, which is good i reckon, her and David Eades from World interact really well together.

Talking of sport, finally saw Matthew Pinsent doing a bulletin yesterday.

Well, at least he wasn't bad at rowing!

it is nice to see Manisha presenting News as she is a good presenter. She used to present the 6 Forum on BBCi

Not the most politically correct sentence ever constructed on this particular forum.

But...her name is Sarah Stirk and she does indeed have a 'great rack'. Or is it 'wrack'? I'm never sure.

Hi everyone, I've been off school for the past week with laryngitis which has given me a chance to look at some of the news channels out there, and for the first time ever I actually sat down and watched bbc news 24 instead of sky news...all week, and I have to say I am really impressed.

I always used to hate the bbc network bulletins and so when we got freeview i never gave n24 a second look, but now with sky news and this big coming up sequence and stuff I decided to give it a try and wow... I'll defintely sticking around.

Can anybody help me out with the schedule though, I'm kind of stuck with who is on when...

08:30- Simon McCoy and Kate Silverton
11:00- Matthew Amroliwala and ?
14:00- Jon Sopel? and Louise Minchin
17:00- Huw Edwards
19:00- ? and Ben Brown

I was particularly impressed with Huw's show as i hadn't really rated him, and I think he really does it very well. All those guests and reporters I have to say is very impressive.

And I quite like the studio, I've never really seen it before from all the different angles but i think it has a kind of understated classy-ness to it.

Really blown away too with their coverage of the Pope's visit with Simon McCoy and David Willey (Rome correspondent?) really doing very well. I can't think that sky would give it much coverage what with them sending Jeremy Thompson out to the Ashes Rolling Eyes

and i have to say its really nice to just have breaking news flash up on the screen for three minute rather than 3hrs.

Here it is:
08:30- Simon McCoy and Kate Silverton
11:00- Matthew Amroliwala and Jane Hill
14:00- Jon Sopel and Louise Minchin
17:00- Huw Edwards
19:00- Emily Maitlis and Ben Brown

But

1) Kate Silverton is standing in for regular presenter Sian Williams on Breakfast during the period of her maternity leave.
2) Emily Maitlis is on maternity leave at the moment.
3) All this week Jane Hill has been doing the six as she is the second female present at the moment because of Sian Williams maternity leave.

I know this is a bit late, but did anyone see the mistake that happened a couple of nights ago on News 24? The weather had just ended (the tower still on) and it cut to a business promo. At the end it froze on the promo for around 15 seconds and the News 24 logo appeared (the one you see in between the headlines). It eventually cut to the countdown but it was stuck on '59.24' so they went back to the logo. The headlines ran as normal.

Quite interesting to see the animation clean (and the fact that the countdown starts on 59.24 with the London shot). I'm having a few problems with the TV-PC connection at the moment so I can't upload the video yet.
