Did N24 take World for an hour yesterday for a special simulcast on the shootings in Lebanon?

The only reason I ask is that Nisha Pillai, who anchored on duty for an hour continuously, comletely avoided making any reference to BBC World during the hour, and only used the terms "BBC News" and "the BBC Newsroom".

It was a pretty mediocre hour at that........four people cramped around that tiny BBC World desk.

A bit of fantasy news coverage tonight.. how News24 would have covered the Apollo moon landings?

Hello all
How are you doing today?
I'm tired because I've started doing some other presenting ASWELL as Newsround.
No, I'm not abandoning you just yet, but I have been asked to do some extra presenting on News 24.

It's all VERY grown up and totally terrifying! I'm presenting 8.30-11am this week, and then coming to present Newsround in the afternoons, so I'm a little worn out! But I promise I won't let it show with any big yawns on the TV or anything!

Anyway it's kind of weird doing 'grown up' news. I can't be quite as smiley and friendly as I like to be! Plus there aren't nearly as many funny stories - it's all politics! I think I'm kind of getting the hang of it a bit. Check it out and let me know what you reckon! Is it weird seeing me in a suit?!

It's the most frightening presenting I've ever done, because it is non-stop news. I'm on for two and a half hours and I can't even go to the loo! Can you imagine?! It's like being in an exam every day!

What's the most frightening thing you've had to do? I remember at school having to get up to recite some poetry once at a competition. It was so scary! In a way presenting the news isn't as nervewracking as doing that kind of performance, because you're just chatting to a camera, rather than hundreds of people, all staring at you. And that's even worse if they're your mates isn't it?!

Let me know your scary stories - the most frightening thing you've done, and how you got on!
See you soon! x

For anyone that's interested, here's the link to the Newsround blog on the BBC website:

BBC.co.uk - Blogs - Newsround

It's under "Recent Entries" (look for the entry entitled "I'm Moonlighting"), and there's also a pic of Ellie too!

News 24 fantastic this afternoon, and Sophie Raworth outstanding. She's so smooth on a rolling news channel, needs to be used more often.

Agreed News 24 has been fantastic today with the events in stormont covered well this morning and then the devloping story surrounding the ex russian spy was covered superbly, News 24 at its best.

Yes, they're pulling out all the stops. A BBC One presenter anchoring from the studio, Sophie (with Julian W), and News 24 presenters out in the field reporting back, Jon Sopel at the news conference and Matthew Amroliwallah at the hospital. This is how N24 should be for major stories.

This is just tedious. Can't we find some proper news? The bloke's been poisoned, probably by a KGB bloke - 'nuff said, Blair and Putin are still mates, can we have something new now please?
