James, what exactly is it you do? Do you work at the BBC? I was intrigued by your newscast on YouTube and am still waiting to see you appear on News 24!
You are far better than some of the mediocre anchors who do the overnights sometimes!! Does Janatt Jaleel know how to smile at all?

I do not work for the BBC - being sixteen and all that - but I have contacts within the Beeb and have been lucky enough to visit the news centre and spend quite a bit of time there. It's surprising just how small the N24 studio actually is, and how close it is to the rest of the newsroom. The newsroom is actually quite grubby, and there's hardly enough space further down towards the main staircase of Stage VI.
The nationals studio is tiny, by the way, it's just some very creative camera trickery and lighting. The cameras are pretty much backed up against the wall in N6

Watching Asia Today over on world, they're promoting reports with Carrie Gracie from Beijing tomorrow. Explains her absence.

There was a piece by her on From Our Own Correspondent on Radio Four a few months ago. She's married to a Chinese man, and they're putting their children through school in China, so they learn the language and culture.

Yes, she's a China specialist - she's been sent out again to do the schools link up job. She still seems to go out there at least once a year, in the same way that Jon Sopei still ends up in Paris from time to time to cover events.

Its intresting he says that there will be a couple of new faces joining the channel, is another big name about to defect? I guess other news organisations should be worried. I would expect any changes to the channel will take place in Feburary, as i believe Emily is due back then as well.
