Three different countdown music in less than three years. Thats welcomely too soon. Smile

I doubt they'd change the countdown at all with the revamp. The music, as you say, is really only just after being changed and they've edited the video sequences recently too...They'll probably introduce a new headline bed that complements the countdown music a bit better.

They are the director's eyes, ears and voice on the studio or OB floor. They are "in charge" of the studio floor in discipline and safety terms, and in many cases also ensure the crew are aware of when breaks are being taken and when people should return etc.

They ensure the presenters are aware of what is going on at all times - incuding giving hand signals for timing and cameras - as well as ensuring guests are in the correct place at the right time etc.

In larger studios they may have an assistant or assistants working to them (getting guests to the studio and ensuring they are in the right position etc.)

In smaller studios, particularly in news areas, they may also be required to move remote cameras around on the studio floor, print scripts for the presenters, and not only sit guests in, but also mic them up.

In the weekends on BBC World the presenter acts as the floor manager too don't they? I know its not the BBC World thread but I was just wondering. I heard that in the weekends on world if they have guests to interview, the presenter gets their mics on and on set etc... is the what a floor manager would do?

Because they are not always on a "studio floor", I imagine.

I've also heard various flavours of title on film sets, so take your pick.
