.........well, that is true!! Can anyone post a link to that particular sketch of Moira Stuart in EXTRAS? I have tried relentlessly to play just that segment from the BBC 2 website, but all I get is the whole programme from the beginning and not the bit with Moira!

(Sorry, News Twentyfourians - I know this is off topic completely.)

Why don't you just watch the show? The brief seconds she appears will mean absolutely nothing out of context.

I am sure I just heard Moira's voice, on News 24. Was she presenting the National news summary that is broadcast on BBC One and News 24?

It had finished by the time I got back into the room.

Yes Moira will be doing the national news all day today.

why isn't the 1200 news on a saturday ever done from N6 anymore? Is it used for recording of another programme, eg hardtalk?

It's because Sportsround broadcast on BBC TWO at 11.45am uses N6. As I understand, the turnaround time to remove the items from the studio in time for the national bulletin starting at 12.00pm is too short, which is why it broadcasts from News 24's studios.

And also the fact that there's little point, when the set is being used so sporadically, changing the set round and keeping a crew on to do a 5 minute summary when N24 already have a crew working in the gallery.

One thing I saw the other week and forgot to mention...

Gavin Esler on the Five sitting in for Huw, and he was doing Film 24. He said, "Joining me, perched on these riducous stools, is Mark Kermode".

He's right, they are ridiculous, especially for Film 24. The armchairs would be far more appropriate, resembling cinema seats a bit more than some coffee bar stools.

Gavin did the last two Fridays on the '5', and each time complained about the stools. This Friday it was Peter Sissons. They were using the chairs.

I like those stools when used for the interviews and guests, they work OK and are needed to get the correct height if the projection screen is being used as a part of the segment. For Film 24, it's negotiable.

Does anyone else think the lighting in the BBC News 24 studio is better today? When I tuned in at midnight last night the studio looked quite yellow (as it has for a while). I tuned in this morning and it looked brighter without that yellow tinge. If they have done something, it is definitely an improvement.

Yeah it's a lot brighter. So much better.
