The presenters always say DIGITAL viewers can press their red button, I didn't know there was any other way to receive news 24, does some form of analogue service still exist?
I believe News 24 is still available through NTL analogue which broadcasts in the 14:9 A/R and has none of the interactive services.
Sorry If this has already been mentioned somewhere.
But i was watching News24 from 5.55pm this evening and they were doing the weather, from the right hand side of the studio.
With the small screen behind...
does this normally happen or do i just not watch news24 much.
Are the "headlines" newsreaders from BBC World? The only time I remember seeing them on the channel proper was when juilet dunlop did an overnight once.

News 24 is carried on BBC One analogue at times (overnight for example), as well as being carried on analogue distribution systems in hotels, communal housing etc.
(I believe it is still also carried on analogue cable in some areas?)
I'm dragging this from the breaking news sting thread in requests to avoid getting moaned at.

Looking at that video, doesn't News 24 look so much better without a ticker on the bottom?
It does. I remember back at the relaunch, they only put it up for major breaking stories, the markets, sports results etc. IMO, it's there as an annoyance.
Anyway, looking at the stuff from the first day, I think that the studio is much darker nowadays. Also, the music from the sting is never played in it's full glory anymore.
Also, I miss both Phil and Anna from the mornings.
They should use it all the time, breaking news whenever it breaks, whatever they're doing at the time - mid report, during weather, whatever - rather than waiting for a 'convenient' time to tell us. If we want convenient times to hear the news we'll switch on at 1, 6 or 10!
There's no excuse or valid reason to do what they do currently, and it makes them slow. News 24 would be far more exciting to watch and pacy if they changed to how I describe above.
