World just took the first minute as they then had a 55 minute programme
Correct me if I'm wrong as I'm not normally around that time, but the 'joint' service starts at 1am, yes?
Until then both services are separate, yes?
Why didn't the World presenter stay for the extra minute?
Or is it for technical reasons, if World falls off air, they'd have a presenter to go back to?

A slightly unusual TOTH at 0100: a 57 second countdown, straight into the title sequence, then the headlines without a bed, and at 0101, into the first story. The tower took another minute to turn up, and the ticker a little after that.
It's still N8, though, and seemingly a News 24 bulletin, not N24/World.

Well the World presenter always finishes at 0030 - remember, World does not have news right up until the TOTH like News 24. It would have meant the whole World team staying for another half an hour just to present another minute. It's far easier to join N24 as normal at 0100 and for them to start with a summary and then carry on as normal afterwards.

The current countdown music is 60 seconds long (as was the 2005 version). Between 1999 and 2005, the countdown was 90 seconds long.

I know this has been asked before, but does anyone know how long the countdown is, and has it ever been played in full? I've only seen it from 53 seconds or so.

Yes, quite a few times I think.
There's some versions of the countdown (about 58 seconds long) on youtube if your're interested

Hum. The data swooshes on the current n24 countdown sound better than the world one.
