Small point....

Has anyone else noted an increase in repeated items on the channel recently, as an example the Polish worker report has been seen twice in the last hour.

Have the News cuts recently made started to be noted in output? Weekend output has always had 'rapid repeats (RR)' but it would seem that RR's are more common during the week as well.

Maybe today was just a slow news day?

I don't get to see it during the day but I guess if nothing is happening in the world they have to fill it with something!

If News 24 is now supposed to be the focus of BBC News, why was the Bangkok correspondent on air for the first time on the Six (Huw didn't have access to him at all during the Five)? Ben Brown on News 24 (which had broken away from the Six to cover it properly) had to wait until the Six had finished their interview before he could speak to him.

Actually News 24 had access to Jonathan Head before 6 - he was on just before 5.

Sorry, didn't see that. Was he on the phone or in video? Just seemed like he was being held in reserve especially for the Six.

Well, to be fair, a correspondent cannot broadcast live on more than one outlet at once. Furthermore, the Six O'Clock News is a fixed one-off bulletin which is seen by many more people than News 24. Let's face it, he can go on News 24 any time - he can only be interviewed on the Six between 1800 and 1830.

It might be me, but do the N24 cameras look in need of a white balance? After watching sky for most of today, upon switching to News 24 it all looks very dark, whites are off white, and there seems to be an odd "phasing" going on...

If you look at the last two, taken only seconds apart, there is a visible difference in the white of the studio, and its not my capture card but the output doing this? Whats up with the cameras? They all seems a bit "off"

Also I note (and this may be old) but the use of "Business" and "Papers" on Swiss and with a glow on the plasmas now...

I've noticed that in the past with News 24 - I just presumed it was bad lighting.

no they're just using rather snazzy camera angles that show off the backdrop better
