Fantasic moment in Phil Avery's forecast at 13.55 just then - cut to a live shot illustrating the weather somewhere, I think Southampton - and a bird was sticking it's head into the camera, before walking around in front of it. "Good grief, would you believe it...what do you mean, the bird had more talent than me?!"
They had fancy camera usage this morning on Breakfast from the News 24 studio. They had a real wide overhead shot, you could see the whole studio. Was much wider than the normal overhead one.
Then they were showing some video footage, it was then mixed to a camera pointing at the left had projector screen, where the camera then panned out to show them discussing whatever it was they were talking about
I was just watching the Headlines from BBC News 24 on the video player.
I noticed that after the titles, a name strap came up using the nationals style strap.
It wasnt see through, just the solid colours and it was also a bit bigger. Then the presenter said Hello, welcome to the latest headlines from bbc news 24. I wonder why they went for the nationals style.
Brian Hanahran on News 24 with Annita tonight? Has he done this before?
I've never seen Brian Hanrahan present on News 24 before but he's certainly no newcomer to presenting - he's anchored BBC World as a relief presenter quite a few times over the years.
A nice surpirse to see Brian Hanrahan last night; he's presented Reporters a couple of times recently but other than that has been keeping quite a low profile.
Ben Geoeghan has been making a lot more appearances recently too.
Some experimentation with the ticker on Thursday morning, with the majority in lower case. Every story was still separated by the 'BBC' logo, but the subject of the story was in caps, and the story headline itself followed, after a hyphon, and was in lower case. It looked good.
In the afternoon, it had reverted to caps in its entirety, as usual.
Good to see an increased use of the 'Breaking' red ticker masthead recently too - it is a useful and eyecatching addition.
I prefered the ticker when instead of constantly saying 'HEADLINES', the name of the story currently on the ticker would be shown.

But that makes it too spinny, and it is distracting. And it looks wrong when they can't fit on something like IRAQ VIOLENCE.
Anyway, anyone catch the very long countdown before Huw? Someone was on a mission. To show the whole countdown. They paused the end part of the Jane Eyre ad and made sure all was shown. Nearly saw 59 secs.
