And which studio was Chris Lowe in at the end of the simulcast?

(with a plasma on one side, by the looks of it)

BBC World, if it has a large plasma on the left hand side.

What was happening on World at about 10.15 BST, then?

Was it a case of some very careful timing and dashing between studios?

What have News 24 been doing before the BBC One simulacasts? I'm thinking particularly of before 5.25 this evening. Has there been anything to allow for headlines reheasals?

Then why not just pre-record it from N6? No, to me it certainly looked like the BBC World newsroom. I assume it was done quickly whilst a report was being played out.

Yes, the get out of the '10' was quite nifty - Chris Lowe wandering around TVC - the link back from the '10' from Chris was in the World studio, linking into a pre-recorded 2 way, then back again to Karin in N6, and by the time she had finished her interview Chris had appeared back alongside her. Full marks for ingenuity!

Apologies if this has been answered a thousand times before, but I am not wading through three hundred pages.

Is this just a maintenance thing for the studio, or is it the 'adjustments' the BBC talked of in June, when they said the News 24 studio would be brought in line with that of the nationals?

according to posts several pages back in this thread, it's electrical testing work.

Could it be they are having to stick all that tacky red plastic back on the set Laughing

Well you assume wrong. It was pre recorded while world was off air.

It's OK, it does the job. The main issue for N24 as we've said before, is that the current set works excellently as it's a part of the newsroom, which is the main element and reasoning behind it all, and it works well. They couldn't get away with doing it from N6 or anywhere else permenantly.

But it doesn't look like it's part of the newsroom - or if it does, then the BBC newsroom is three desks manned by on average 2 people, as that's all you can see.

We all know that News 24 wasn't though of when the News Centre was built, and therefore there are no suitable places within the newsroom to site a studio. That's why we have the lash up that is N8. They've done as best as they could with it, but a corridor in the corner of the newsroom is rather embarrasing for what is supposed to be the flagship outlet of the world's biggest news broadcaster!

I think you will find that News 24 was thought of in the planning process of building the News Centre. It's partly why the News Centre was built in the first place!
