I know this is a bit sad...but can someone post presenters and shifts for the last week on News 24?

No, can you just PM him so this thread isn't made as boring as the BBC World thread.

now be fair phil, I've got them posting pictures of the new york studio and discussing backdrops at the moment. i'm trying.

Can I ask what is the big problem of posting presenter shifts on the forum?
This after all is a television presentation forum and surely the presenters qualify as presentation therefore being able to be discussed.
IMO if you don't like it, don't read it.

As for the original question, I would post the shifts but I didn't really watch N24 last week.

News24
Last week was Maxine replacing Kate, Julian replacing Simon/Matthew, Tim/Tony replacing Jon, Chris replacing Ben, Jenny for Emily.
This week Tim replacing Peter/Chris on Sunday, and Simon through the week, Maxine replacing Kate, Ben G. for Jon, Peter Sissons for Huw, Chris for Ben Brown, and Jenny replaces Emily.

From a personal view, i just find the obsessive interest presenter rotas desperately dull and anally retentive. Yes it's TV presentation, and we're all a bit anoraky here, but you can take these things a bit too far - rather like keeping a log of each and every aston which appears on screen for instance.

As for the 'if you don't like it, don't read it' argument, that'd be fine if such discussion was kept in separate threads, but when it takes over otherwise interesting discussion, we all lose out.

IMO it would be helpful if there was another thread for posting presenter schedules on.

There has to be a balance on schedule chat. Recording every small detail of who's filling in for who is tedious in the extreme, but new names, where they've been before, and whether they're worth hiring makes for interesting reading.

Tim Wilcox's job is clearly filling in for whoever, what makes (I hope) for a more interesting discussion is when he fills 3 shifts in a 24-hour period! Not healthy for the channel, the viewer and probably Mr Wilcox - other than keeping Mrs Wilcox in the style to which she has become accustomed. Arguably as a freelancer you take the work when you can get it, I'm assuming he's freelance, and if the schedules are still 'work in progress', then maybe his place won't last forever.

My other schedule bugbear is when you get a different person in a timeslot everyday of the week. It's been sort of steady the past couple of weeks, despite the holidays, but there was one occasion recently when Joanna Gosling forgot her co-presenters name and consequently apologised by saying it was her fourth co-host that week!

That seems like quite a good idea. It can't do any harm making another thread.

Maybe someone could set up a wiki where a record of presenters and programmes could be maintained collaboratively?

It's quite easy to set up with pbwiki.com or wiki.com
