Interesting to see Clare Marshall, who has come back to London as a reporter, presenting on News 24 with Chris last night...

Was she good at her presenting stint?

Seemed a little nervous at first at 7pm but got into it. Chris Lowe seemed to be looking after her - lots of fatherly-type glances during the 7pm hour!

Today @ 10am, the TOTH was done completely by Ben Brown from the Middle-East, and there was some different music (a sinthesized chord changing in pitch by one note every headline). I think that it was BBC World's, it sounded very good. A lot better than the usual

Amazing how behind the scenes they give the impression that their coverage is leagues ahead of Sky, yet on screen the final output is the total opposite.

In your opinion.

As the article correctly identified, for the 24 hours of News 24 monitored, the BBC effort wiped the floor with Sky.

Who says Sky didn't have a packed day too? I am sure that there are days where BBC put more effort in to there news output than Sky but never the less you would have to monitor both channels for the same 24 hours before you can make judgement on them both.

Perhaps...but for the remainer of the coverage, they have been awful. Their initial success with Ben Brown seems to have got the better of them, because basically it has been him and nobody else.

It was always in the back of my mind that Clare Marshall would come into newsreading somehow.

I have also got a feeling that that Ben Brown (currently in Beirut) will become a newscaster one day too.........
