They are just overworking Tim nowadays. He's on this morning a grand 9 hours after his last shift. Aren't they ever going to give him a break? Where's Carrie Gracie, and Liz Pike who can do just as good a job (Though not quite as well)?

...he's also been spending quite some time on BBC World as well. It must surely be a matter of time before he finds himself on the nationals.

Now on his second shift today. The BBC really do have a shortage of Male anchors. Why did they send Peter off to World when there's plenty enough work for him on News 24? And why can't they just drag big Al or someone off the overnight?

Was there another viewer's countdown this Friday (30th June) and if so whose was it?

It was the turn of David Trigger who managed to mix up the theme tune quite literally, overlaying several different tracks, not worrying too much about coherency and throwing in a couple of random Big Ben bongs for good measure. Bless.

God that was painful to listen to. It's all very well they want to show off what the viewers have done, but don't they care about the quality? Who in their right mind decided that deserved 60 seconds of national airtime!?

Maybe they want to inspire an 'I could do better myself' reaction in viewers. I couldn't remix music to save my life, but now I'm tempted to give it a go after that ****.

Some of the remixes have been very good.

Carrie's been in Beijing for Newsnight and doing over projects for the last month but I think shes back on News 24 next week...

As for Liz, maybe they've realised how bad she is?

She's not that bad! I always thought she was quite good!

Fergus Walsh's report on binge drinking looked suspiciously like the final piece to camera was filmed in the BBC Club bar. Usually they at least make the effort to nip down the road to Shepherd's Bush or Notting Hill...

But the beer's cheaper up on floor 4.

Overnight bulletin came from World set last night and at 00:59 there was a very long countdown - at least 52 seconds. Why do they always play out long countdowns when News 24 is coming from the World set? Is it something to do with giving the World gallery enough time or what? And then coming up to 2am they showed a 22-second countdown but at about 18 seconds, we cut to another countdown which was at 46 seconds but the audio from the first countdown remained. After 5 seconds, we dissolved back into the original countdown which was at 13 seconds. Can somebody explain why the countdowns are so busy when News 24 comes from the World set?

Interesting, BBC World tends to have longer countdowns during the overnight bulletins... longest I saw today was 38 seconds, which is quite a long countdown for BBC World viewers!! ours are usually 25 seconds and under.

Erm, it lets them get home more quickly (possibly)? Smile

At last! Tim Willcox has been added to the BBC News 24 presenter profile section. All other profiles have been altered to the recent new schedule - wish they would just change those pictures!
