Natasha Kaplinsky has just appeared on News 24 alongside Matthew Amroliwala - is this the first time she's presented on the channel?

good to see the presenters from bbc1 being used on n24 - gives good value for money imho and breaks down the 'exclusitivity' between the two channels

Didn't Kevin Bakhurst say when he took over News 24 that he wanted to see BBC ONE presenters like Natasha, Sophie and Sian presenting on the channel as and when their schedules allowed?

Natasha was gone at 13.30, Matthew was joined by Rachel Schofield. I have to say Natasha suited News24 more than the six!

I have to agree. I felt she was very good on News 24 and handled breaking news superbly. Of course, she already has experience of rolling news channels. I think she would be better suited to BBC News 24 than the Six, she has the presenting and 'authoritarian' style for it. Did anyone feel there was an atmosphere between her and Matthew?

Something that get my goat. Why does News 24 insist on showing PMQs when it is being covered on The Daily Politics, as well as BBC Parliament? Sure Sky News shows it - they don't have anywhere else to put it - so why don't News 24 point viewers to BBC 2 for PMQs whist they get on with the days news?

Not exactly giving viwers choice is it?

They will frequently leave after around 10 minutes and point to the other channels. It's still a news item and worth covering.

And here she is for a second day. Holiday cover or a permanent fixture?

I doubt it will be a permanent fixture but I'd like it to be, Jane would then get the Six. Hurrah! Very Happy

I would actually prefer the two to swap.

I've noticed where Kate Silverton has gone this week - Royal Ascot. I wonder if her choice of clothing will be criticised again with the event been one of the heights of British fashion?

She's looked OK so far. The only criticism I could make is that yesterday she had a hat that covered too much of her face: it was over her eyes! Not really suitable for a presenter.
