I agree with you there, James. I watched her for about 30 minutes earlier this evening, and was very impressed with her. She'd make a good relief presenter for any of the daytime females on News 24 - not overnight!
Actually the overnight shift is very important - those are the bulletins that are seen on PBS across the States and they want excellent presenters. Remember the likes of Jane Hill and Joanna Gosling all started on overnights and actually had a big fan base in America because of it. Overnights actually gets a bigger audience than any of the daytime News 24 shifts because of the World audience as well - so she is certainly not wasted on overnights.
I think Alastair Yates should have a co-presenter through the night. He must get very lonely all on his own!
Talking about overnight shifts - Jake Lynch has become much better IMO. Does anyone else think so?
I watched him a couple of nights ago and noticed that he now says "Welcome to the programme" with so much enphasis that it sounds so fake... No, I still don't like him very much.
Anyway, I like the lonely version of Alastair Yates, I can't figure him out with a co-presenter.

Karin Giannone, and an incredibly talented reader/journo at that. A bit wasted on the shifts at the moment.
