If the change of banner colour is deliberate and permanent, they really are stupid down there.

The previous set of graphics suffered the problem that there was no distinction between normal straps and Breaking News ones. When they revamped, they put this problem right.

So now in the name of typical News 24 change-for-the-sake-of-change they decided to bring the problem back.

Brilliant.

Ah, is that just for business?

Jane's looking forward to the erections, sorry elections , in Iraq this weekend.

Well done to both her & Simon for keeping straight faces!

EDIT

Well, the TOTH's the same just that the globe spins almost 3 times as fast!!! Looks pretty crazy!

There seems to be a darker colour of banner too. I think they've just got the colours a bit close, needs a bit of a tweak. I agree about the red on white though.

From the caps it looks like the ticker has gone into ALL CAPS. Why? It makes it much more difficult to read!

The text in the clock appears to have been changed from Gill Sans to Swiss721 and now matches the new clock on Breakfast. Looks like the ticker text is using a heavier version of Swiss than previously.

Nope, the clock is still Gill Sans, just a bit bigger I think.

Just seen the grey box above, but it was used for a news headlines update, so maybe not just for buisness? A few technical problems, it's been spinning randomly but not when the text on the box changes! And when it spins, it's yellow:

The graphics now animate a lot more smoothly than they did before (most notable improvement is the headline text on the TOTH titles). The text in the ticker is now a lot clearer too. Strange that the clock remains in Gill Sans though.

Yes an upgrade to the TOG, looks much more smoother, as they improved the frame rate hence the smoothness, the ticker is smooth, but the text on the left did not work at all well as the text just didn't change to Headlines when all the headlines were appearing, so there is a bug there, and during the animation it goes yellow.

Secondly there's less transparancy in the BBC News 24 DOG and the clock has got a big bigger.

Also look closely and the spacing between the words has increased as well, makes it look a little unnatural IMHO.

But I was really shocked when I saw the titles, the globe has gone out of control, it's far too fast, they have to slow that down surely, will look at BBC World tomorrow.

BBC World hasn't changed.

Yes, you're right. I realised that as soon as I actually saw it on screen last night. Embarassed

It also appeared that the colour of the headline straps were back to the normal dark red when I saw it. Hopefully the use of the brighter 'Breaking News' red was just a temporary glitch. Presumably they've got some new or updated kit to allow for smoother animation which would explain the error.

It seems to have gone back to the old TOG now (smaller clock, jolty ticker)
