Seriously, though the 3 min version is just a trance/dance track. It was close enough when BIll Bailey mentioned it... now I really wouldn't be surprised to see a room full of people dancing to this.. not me though.. cough.

Also I'm not sure if the video has been re-edited. There are certain parts that were edited to fit the orignal music that really don't anymore. There was a "da da da" and a mid short, close up, mid shot of a BBC satalite. The visuals are there but the "da da da" is gone, very strange...

Have any of the reporters featured in the countdown left? If so, I suppose they'd have to be edited out.

Barnaby Phillips, who was formerly based in Johannesburg for the BBC, has since left for Al-Jazeera. He featured in most, if not all, of the countdown sequences.

My favourite version of the countdown is the one where the images are cut to the beat around 24' 23' seconds. Not sure if its been re-edited or not.

There is no 1 today because of the airbus landing at Heathrow. It was announced on Breakfast that there would be live coverage on BBC News 24 at 13.20 when the plane lands.

News 24 well ahead of Sky again with the Airbus landing, Sky couldn't even get the press conference on, and could only manage to show the news agency feed from inside the Airbus.

At the 3:00 TOTH they played the opening titles out twice about a second after each other, so it gave quite a funny echo type effect to them.

I really like the new countdown music though I have to agree, why would you change a decent countdown music when there are plenty of other problems still with the channel's presentation? Least we get one high quality bit of pres at the TOTH.

David Lowe has updated his website and really is spoiling us this time. As well as the thre minute countdown, there's the promo music, two previously unheard "megamixes" and the new Breakfast title in full.
