Then move it from the NEWS 24 Thread, it's a bit irrelevant....

And get your head bitten off for starting a new one...

They had a few tech issues with the business news at 6.45-ish. The video and audio were ages out of time, and we saw a bit of aaron in the WBR studio- does News 24 just record off World?

sorry if this has been already mentioned but does anyone know if news24 will get a new look because it looks odd now.

Well when the current BBC News boss started, one of the things he promised was standardised Astons across all BBC News output. It would seem very odd therefore to launch a new style of Aston on the 1, 6 and 10, and not on News 24.

Having said that, why would they have bothered fannying around with the News 24 Astons a couple of months ago? So it's anyone's guess really.

My hunch would be that News 24 at some point will get some new titles to match the new 'glassier' look on BBC One, and maybe some tweaked Astons to match as well.

How about this? Could keep the red for breaking news...

EDIT: Now I've come back and looked at this again, I really think it looks far better with the TOG centred like that rather than extending to the right. The whole thing looks more balanced and because you can see picture on the right (well you would be able to with widescreen) the TOG isn't as dominating.
May i ask what font you used for that. i cant find anything like it

Didn't use a font, they're just edited screen caps.

Off work today so able to watch Matthew & Jane.

While they are great, they do use a lot of annoying phrases. Matthew in particular always says "because" all the time usually completely inappropriately. He just said, "It's 11.30 and let's get the headlines BECAUSE our top story is..." Why 'because', wouldn't you have got the headline if it'd been a different top story?

And the old "Let pause... for some sport/weather/business"!

Sorry, just me being picky! Smile

Me too. We've had some real funnies today, largely centred around a correspondent wearing a hairnet (doing an OB from a Stilton factory).

Jane made the least comprehensible comment on it, something along the lines of 'Oh, that's just what I need to sort out my hair problems'.

What problems?! She looks fine!

Did you not see her report from New Orleans? Without her straightners and hairspray it went a bit wild.

You're absolutely right. We also covered a particularly uncomfortable OB during the recent Scottish bird flu scare.
