So if his contract wasn't renewed, did they plan for him to leave & for Simon McCoy to take over 9-12s?

I'm not sure if I'm alone in thinking this, but one of News 24's best discoveries over the last year or so has got to be Kate Silverton. As a presenter she's really developed and improved, and I rate her amongst one of the best on the channel. She's also EXTREMELY attractive.

With talent like Kate and Karin Giannone rattling around at the channel, it therefore amazes me that people like Joanna Gosling are still getting a look in - there's just no comparison IMO.

Presumably they discovered her when she was presenting '3D' on Sky News.

Startling.

Oh, and Karin Gianonne... another Sky cast off.

I've edited this three times now. Joanna Gosling, erm, she would be from Sky too, I think.

I always thought Karin Giannone was ordinary at best on Sky anyway...has she had a personality transplant since appearing on N24 or something?

BBC News 24 played out an 88 second countdown before the 0400 headlines on Thursday 10th March... has anyone spotted a 90 second one since the current fleet of countdowns started?

Also, BBC ONE used to play a generic countdown until the top of the hour when joining BBC News 24 overnight. They just seem to play masses of trails and then a very brief ident when joining at the top of the hour now. Has anyone seen anything different from this recently?

You wouldn't mind properly uploading the file... or reducing the bitrate for those of us with a slower connection would you?

The red panel on the RIGHT of the image below seems to have gone on the sports segment I just watched. Instead it was frosted clear with a red horizontal band continuing from behind the screen.

Why have they done that, it looks really bare.

Yep, it's defo gone. I think it looks far better, the old version had too much red and was too dark. Perhaps someone fell through it and broke it!

They could do with lightening up the summary area now.
