Maxine is on this afternoon- is this her new weekend slot, and does this mean that the new schedules start this week?

Peter Sissons is doing the BBC1 bulletins today - 1-7 would be his usual slot, so Maxine is filling in for him. Her new slot is 1-5 on Sunday afternoons.

Only on Sundays? Which other days is Maxine on News 24, I like her.

Only on Sundays apparently - im sure she'll be filling in at other times.

That's a real shame. What about Matthew Armroliwala, what's his slot?

I dont like the idea of the One and Six news on News 24 I think it will disrupt the flow of the channel.

I presume the only Friday changes will be Carrie Gracie instead of Kate (8.30-11.00) and Joanna Gosling and Chris Lowe instead of Emily and Ben (19.00-22.00).

Plus no Huw Edwards - Carrie Gracie will be doing this Friday's 5.00 news. Probably no Chris Eakin either.

This Friday's probably not going to be very indicative of any general schedule/roster/arrangement, being Good Friday

Interesting to see how the ratings are changing for the two main news channels. At the moment BBC News 24 is getting between a 13.5 and 14% weekly reach (in multichannel homes), compared to Sky News who are getting between 9 and 10%

This time last year Sky News were getting between 10.5 and 11% while News 24 was around 11%. So News 24 has really stretched out a considerable lead in the last year or so.

Way back in 1998 Sky News was getting around 20%, but i dont know what News 24 were getting.

Bout 2%!

I think it's a remarkable feat News 24 have pulled off and admittadly Sky has made a rod for their own backs it's always nice to hear News 24 is doing well, if only to show that throwing money at something doesn't always work!

I think the lead's only going to get bigger. Having Huw Edwards will prove to be a big boost to ratings in my opinion - he will attract a lot of people who are not usually attracted to the news channels.
