Busy week for Chris Eakin as on-location presenter on News 24: Paris on Tuesday and Wednesday, Stormont yesterday and Cellardyke today.

Wonder if the fact he's being used a lot outside of the studio is due to him having an elevated position on the channel or simply because Jon Sopel is off on holiday.

Does a move to the 10.30 to 12.30am shift count as being elevated?

Luke, do you see what I meant in my private messages to you.

I don't know if this has been mentioned, but the trailers for Newswatch seem to be sporting a new style endboard, something like this mock-up.

It looks quite good - hopefully it will be used for all trailers. Usually the respective programme-makers seem to be a law unto themselves with regards to trailer design, not usually to particularly good effect!

Looks good. I hope they sort out those dire Talking Movies trailers.

I feel the trailers accurately reflect the quality of the show

Have there been any promos yet advertising the new 'lineup'?

I seem to remember NickyS saying there would be.

Maxine is on this afternoon- is this her new weekend slot, and does this mean that the new schedules start this week?

Alaister was drafted in last night so I beleive Maxine is simply a stop-gap. All changes to News 24 will take place from Monday morning.

Peter Sissons is doing the BBC1 bulletins today - 1-7 would be his usual slot, so Maxine is filling in for him. Her new slot is 1-5 on Sunday afternoons.

Only on Sundays? Which other days is Maxine on News 24, I like her.
