I'm very surprised about the lack of comment here about the fact that News 24 simulcasted the start of the Six - a full 4 days before they were supposed to!

Was watching News 24 Tonight and loved the way they got the split screen to slide in as was mentioned before, with the picture going over the map, but I never remember Exeter being in Israel!! And, I live there!!

You know, I find it very galling to read posts here criticising the newsreaders for their delivery. Have any of you ever tried to read an autocue, and not look like a robot? It's not as easy as it sounds. I have done it, and I know that it's not the easiest trick to learn, and it takes a bit of practice to perfect. But some of the 'relief' newscasters, such as Tim Wilcox, Julian Worricker, Liz Pike, Rachel Schofield and the like, are damn good at what they do, and I think some of the criticism here is not warranted.

I haven't read any criticism of those you mentioned on here, with the exception of Liz Pike. I think we all appreciate it's not easy.

It's reading text which moves from bottom to top, trying to read every word without it disappearing! Hardly astro-physics. Anyhoo, where have you done it if you don't mind me asking? Smile

Busy week for Chris Eakin as on-location presenter on News 24: Paris on Tuesday and Wednesday, Stormont yesterday and Cellardyke today.

Wonder if the fact he's being used a lot outside of the studio is due to him having an elevated position on the channel or simply because Jon Sopel is off on holiday.

Does a move to the 10.30 to 12.30am shift count as being elevated?
