Perhaps Tim was having a quick break, he has been on since 7 and will continue through to 1am, he normaly gets a break of about 23 minutes after 10, but tonight they went back to News 24 within the first few minutes, hence the reasoning for showing BBC London, to give Tim a 10 minute break.
However if this was the case surely Jane could have continued through until 11.

Does Tim Wilcox ever leave? I see him on a weekend, during the day, he's on late at night doing a five hour shift. He's certainly a main face on the channel, does he have a permanant slot?

Well i think he has a permanent slot on Sundays 9am - 1pm and Friday nights 10pm - 1am. Apart from that he's just here, there and everywhere as a relief presenter.
