Sorry if you have already discussed this.
Will BBC News on BBC One make the new studio debut on April 10th aswell as the N24 changes on that day. Theres being many rumours it will, and that the new studio *MAY* have been seen on the Budget06 programme.

Ah but technically for a short period of time there will be a new studio before the old one is ready with a new set

I'm guessing that the blue screen is going up somewhere for the weekend whilst changes are made.
It wouldn't suprise me if they take out the monitor on the left as I'm guessing it is rear projection, and removing it would give a reasonable space for a sofa arrangement. It seems a practical way to gain more studio space, whilst not affecting news bullitens as they tend to use the right monitor during bullitens, though that would affect weather forcasts. I could of course be completely wrong (and I probably am).

But as Brekkie has said, I sincerly hope they take the opportunity to revise the 1/6/10's graphics. I would be a crying shame if it was left as it was which to be honest is a shambolic hash and undermines the quality of the reporting, seriously, just watching the 10 o'clock news hour (on News 24) with that bizarre semi-gradient bar which just seemed to have been randomly added and made no sense. It's often said, and usually rather hastidly in my opinion, that graphics and on-screen presence has become tired but this current look is not so much tired as dying a death, it's a throwback to previous ideas and when looking at the current design "direction" doesn't work.

There you go again with the 'thread fascism'.
There is no functional difference between a 10 page thread and a 250 page one.
Your obsession with new threads is bizarre.

If so, could we take the opportunity to close this thread and begin a new one as News 24 moves into a new era?

Translation: I don't like them. Don't bother sorting out the minor problems, just throw the baby out with the bathwater.

Straight Talk is being replaced by an Andrew Neil hosted political inteview showe for the weekends (from end of april), according to MG.
Shame really as I've always enjoyed Straight Talk as a format- the ideal for me would have been to have Andrew Neil (who I quite like) take over the presenting responsibilities with the same format as currently.
