I had assumed there was something on the way, thanks for the tip ... readers of Broadcast will have seen one of the presenter publicity photos featuring the likes of Silverton, Sopel Edwards etc for the new presenter line-up.
The legend himself, WithMeTimWillcox has been on in his usual 09.00 -13.00 shift and seems to be soldiering on until 17.00 today. He's unstoppable, he was on last night until 23.00 (they obviosuly sent him packing an hour early to get some sleep in). At one of the BOTH intros last night he seemed to be laughing when announcing "You're watching BBC News 24 with Joanna Gosling and with me Tim Willcox", I'm sure he must read in here...I hope he isn't shuffled under the carpet when this reshuffle takes place shortly.

Tim seems to be the mainstay of weekend coverage... a bit like Allan King is to Sky News.

YES, THIS IS ME, THE ORIGINAL RECOGNITION OF THE TIM WILLCOX CATCHPHRASE
Let's face it, Tim is now THE FACE of BBC News 24. Maybe unintentionally, but he is.. Anytime of any day, and sometimes more than 1 shift on any day, Tim delivers... and delivers like NO ONE else on the channel... you actually see his face more than anyone else's usually.
He shines even more when paired with amateurs like Joanna Gosling... he makes them look silly and uneducated... albeit unintentionally.
This ode to Tim is now over... slag me if u want, I don't care, but i know that many of you guys agree...

Tim is the whore of News 24 (that rhymes). He don't care who he's with or what time of day it is. I heard he doesn't charge much either.
God love him.
God love him.

He is indeed The Main Man of News 24; if their website goes back online again there should be a section devoted to him, I'm sure people must want to know about him seeing as he always seems to be in the chair. Another worthy point brought up there, that he is surely the most viewed presenter as he's on at all times of day, he even did the overnight simulcast one night back in January. I would say that he deserves a more prominent role on the channel, but he can't really get more prominent than he is now! Next step would have to be the national bulletins, as he did at one time for ITN at weekends.
And best of all, he's a top quality presenter, who handles himself well and comes across both warmly and authoritively - full marks Tim!!
