There were some similar text and font tweaks apparent in erractic fashion on World yesterday too (not simulcast segments), but it all appears to be back to normal today.
It also appears the text on the ticker 'headline' is now bigger (to match that on the ticker itself), and the sides of the block on which it spins are now grey rather than blue.
Yes, it appears that in response to the stacked N24 logo being too high up in the box, someone has vertically reduced it in size, effectively squashing it on a single axis (downwards), rather than proportionally resizing it (x and y), or simply moving the logo down without resizing it at all.
I'm at a loss to understand how this was allowed on air without someone point out how utterly awful it obviously looks.
The larger text in the ticker mast looks awkward as well, particularly when the first and letters of "INTERACTIVE" are brushing against the edges of the box.
What a mess.
...and now they're trying to make up for it with a 59-second countdown. Pfft.
I think they've gone back to the old logo, with smaler |B|B|C| and larger "NEWS 24", but the trouble is they've stretched it, so the |B|B|C| is far too wide and the whole logo isn't centred properly either. It looks so bad I wouldn't be surprised if we saw last week's set back again.
Is it literally a case of getting a journalist or broadcast assistant to tweak the graphics, because I find it hard to believe a graphics designer would make such enormous howlers.
Oh dear - and yes, the INTERACTIVE now doesn't fit in the box. As you say, any graphic designer would know that you have to leave space around text, logos etc for it to look good, but it looks like they've just increased it until it just fits and thought that's OK.
I can't imagine the logo staying like this for long, looks completely rediculous, even to a general viewer. I can't understand how this sort of error can actually make it to air, unless it looked fine the testing environment they use(!) and f**ked up when deploying it on the live system.
