Chris Eakin is quite a fairly average newsreader. Although sometimes he stutters too much and makes a weird shaking movement with his head whilst reading the autocue. Esler should return to N24 - him and Jane Hill for 7-10 would be brilliant!

I've never understood why he should be given such prominance. He's a second rate reader at best and usually has trouble, it appears, doing the simpliest of stuff. It's interesting that someone like Chris should be so well noted when the likes of Willcox are seemingly, and a lot better presenter, shouved around the schedules.

Gavin returning to N24 would be brillaint IMHO.

Is it me or is Chris Eakin just dire??

Here on World, we had Nisha Pillai and Lyse Doucet as our studio anchors yesterday, pairing up with Gavin Esler out on location. A tremendous trio of presenters IMO.

However, I can see where you are all coming from wrt Chris Eakin. He seemed bemused as to why he was actually out in Belgrade and his delivery is not as professional as one would have expected.

Nisha, Lyse and Gavin would of been interesting to see! I wonder what Sky News Today would be like with them!

Anyway, I think it would of been better to send someone else to Belgrade rather than Chris, what about Matthew Amroliwala!!! Speaking of him, has he done reporting duties out of the newsroom?

I believe that Matthew was a US Correspondent during the nineties. He also does some commentary on BBC royal events i think.

On a separate issue, where is BBC World News at 9.30am?

Mr. Matthew Amroliwala also used to be the BBC's secondary Northern Ireland Correspondent for many years, alongside Denis Murray, who is still there, I beleive.

They have maybe dropped BBC World news this morning, given that David Jessel's voice has been getting worse as the morning progressed!! It will be gone entirely soon.

Watching Chris Eakin makes James Rubin look like a veteran anchor!

I think I watch Chris at time different to you lot. I think he actually makes it look really natural. He actually seems interested in the news, not a seemless link often, but he doesn't look like he is ust reading it off the autocue. I like watching him and think he does a lot of research that helps when he gets sent away.

Chris is good in my opinion, what those who don't like him have a problem with I can't understand.

Tim 'the hair' Wilcox on the other hand is awful!
