I actually like the new fonts/ticker look etc. It doesn't look as heavy and the colours tie in better. Agreed, however, that the LIVE Bug should have changed!!

I think the caps posted don't do it justice. As the previous poster has stated, when I saw them on here, I thought the thinner font looked like a poor effort from our Mocks forum.

However, upon viewing them on a TV screen, I think the changes are for the better- but as with all changes it just takes a little time to get used to. The ticker change is actually very well thought out, as the writing is so much clearer now, with the added benefit of it being more obvious when the masthead changes to the red "BREAKING" format.

Just a pity that, as has been said, that stands out more than the actual BREAKING strap.

TICKER: better than before. Looks very similar to Channel 4 News straps.

THINNER FONT: lacks impact.

TOWER: looks bloody stupid.

OVERALL: I can see what they're trying to do, but the whole things just looks messy now. Too many different fonts on the screen, and the tower looks daft.

Yes back from work, I spotted these graphics from a bank's plasma screen, it does look very weird particularly the DOG, but I don't understand why they had to tweak the graphics, they were already perfect, it was just the RTS titles that they had to change onto the TOG system, the changes they have made today just makes everything look weird!

The graphics do look nice but what is the point of tweeking the graphics if they are having a new look in april.

It's probably just a bit of a test to see what works and what doesn't before an overhaul.
I like the new font but only on the headline strap. The usage on the description and ticker straps doesn't look right to be honest.
I'm looking forward to Huw Edwards on from 5pm to 6pm though! Obviously it's the BBC making their own Jeremy Thompson mock.

If they can use the old tower again and bold the headlines graphic, it would be OK then, I think the white ticker does stand out then the grey/white text background, but the black bit with the thin text needs to have bold text!

TOTH Titles seem to be sorted I see, with the headlines flying, and then the RTS at the bottom.

The tower looks awful. The BBC Logo is too big. Also I prefer the bolder font on the straps. The ticker is the best , only , improvement IMO.

New look? What changes are expected?

Thats only Nationals , Newsnight, Newsround, Breakfast, Working Lunch isnt it. All getting new sets/studios and new looks. Or have I miss understood.

Is this new look going to be radical? I'm guessing not, if anything it'll probably be just more in the News 24 style. The current look hasn't been around for *that* long in this form.
